Homework
Our homework policy is designed to allow us to tailor it to our children's needs. We see it as an opportunity for children and parents to work together.
Teachers are willing to advise parents on the ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts‘ of homework. Please don’t hesitate to speak with your child's teacher if you have any concerns.
We acknowledge that children have an other life outside of school which is rich in possibilities. Our homework demands should never interfere with this.
However we ask all our families to undertake particular tasks:
1. Read with their children every night
2. Learn spellings when they are set
3. Learn numbers bonds and times tables as set down in our Maths. booklet.
In addition we set some specific English and Maths work every Friday.
There may also be times when the children may be asked to undertake specific tasks related to themes in History, Geography, Science etc.
