Children do at least 5 hours of Maths per week. We teach them facts and also skills and methods that they then have to apply to new situations.
We always try to teach Maths in interesting ways and give real-life context to make the learning meaningful.
Maths is a big subject area and involves:
Keeping up with the Kids
- Number and Place Value
- Addition and Subtraction
- Multiplication and Division
- Properties of Shape
- Position and Direction
- Ratio and Proportion
“They didn’t do it like that when I was in school.”
Some areas of the Maths curriculum are now looked at differently than they were 10, 20 or 30 years ago. To help make sure parents know the methods and processes we talk about in school, we offer workshops to help you find out.
Below are materials we have shared at these meetings, available as a reference for whenever you need them.
