Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education is known as PSHE in school. This also involves aspects of Citizenship.
At Kingsway, we regard this as a crucial lesson in children’s learning. In Reception, Personal and Social Development is one of the key areas of learning and is considered as important as Reading, Writing and Maths. If we had our way, this would be true throughout school. Just as we want to produce children who can read, write and do maths, we also want to produce children who are confident and secure in developing their social relationships.
In PSHE, children cover areas such as:
- Working together
- Friendships and differences
- Rules and responsibilities
- Communities and identities
- Keeping safe (including “Taking Care – Protective Behaviours)
