We work hard at keeping our children safe but we know that one of the most important things we have to teach them is how to make good choices to keep themselves safe.
We do this as part of the PSHE curriculum (particularly in the Protective Behaviours unit of work) and also talk about safety when doing practical work in subjects like P.E., Design & Technology, Art and Science.
Also, we have a series of assemblies in which we look at how children can stay safe at school, at home and out and about. Examples of the presentations used in assemblies like this are provided below. If we become aware of a safety issue at school or in the local area, we use these assemblies to highlight it to the children.
