Sports Activities

As we all know from the press, children aren't doing enough sport at school... Unless your child goes to Kingsway!

Every child participates in Physical Education lessons twice a week, as well as:

Swimming

Every year group in the school has the opportunity, within the academic year to go swimming at St. Nicholas Leisure Centre in Warwick. Whilst swimming the children learn many new skills and gain a ceritificate at the end of the swimming term. The certificates can be for swimming skills and achievements in distance swimming.

Festivals

During the year the children participate in festivals with other schools. These can be held at our school or other schools, including Myton Secondary School. The festivals cover a range of sports including team building, athletics and skipping. Different festivals offer different year groups the opportunity of participating.

Competitions

The children compete in competitions against different schools. These include athletics, cheerleading and tag rugby. In 2010 and 2011 Year 3 & 4 are taking part in the virtual athletics competitions!

There is a sports' notice board up in school which has information on forthcoming events.

Play Leaders

Children are trained to be lunchtime play leaders. They manager equipment and work with the younger children and teach them games.
