When children are dressed smartly in school uniform it helps them to feel ready for learning along with all their class-mates. We believe the Kingsway approach to uniform is flexible enough to allow for children to have some come choice and to feel comfortable and we expect all children to adhere to it.

We understand the frustration when expensive school-wear goes missing or gets damaged. To help us ensure items do not get lost, please:

  • Name everything, even socks!

  • Check your child’s clothes when they put them in the wash-basket – have they got the right names in?

Lost property in school is collected in the school reception area.

Sometimes children to messy activities in school – we recommend children have a (named) painting shirt in school to wear to protect their uniform. It is a good idea for this to be in school at all times because, whilst teachers would try to inform you if your child may need a painting shirt on a particular day, or plans can sometimes change at quite short notice.

Children complete PE lessons twice a week. PE is part of the national curriculum – all children should complete every lesson. If your child has a medical complaint, we will need a written letter advising us that they cannot take part in a particular lesson. You will be advised of the days your child has PE but it is a good idea for their PE kit to remain in school every day.
