To develop children’s scientific knowledge and understanding of the nature, process and methods of science for now and the future. By fostering an environment of inquisitiveness and rigour, children are given opportunities, through experimentation, to extend and deepen their learning.

With the emphasis on experimentation, all lessons should captivate and stimulate interest in science. Real world examples should be embedded in lessons to provide context wherever possible so that children see that science is a major part of their lives. Use of school facilities including the purposed science lab and the edible garden and outside resources should be encouraged.
