Computing

At Kingsway, our computing curriculum aims to develop confident, creative and responsible users of technology. We follow the Purple Mash scheme of work, which provides a progressive and engaging curriculum that builds children's knowledge and skills from Reception through to Year 6. Pupils learn key areas of computing, including computer science, information technology and digital literacy, enabling them to understand how technology works and how to use it safely, effectively and purposefully. Through a range of practical and creative activities, children develop problem-solving, logical thinking and computational skills while learning how to communicate, collaborate and create using digital technologies. Online safety is embedded throughout the curriculum, ensuring that children become responsible and respectful digital citizens, prepared for an ever-changing technological world.

If you require further information about our Computing curriculum, please speak to our Computing Lead, Mr Atkinson.

Children can access Purple Mash from home using their individual login details, allowing them to continue their learning, share their achievements and explore a range of exciting activities at their own pace. We encourage families to regularly explore Purple Mash together and make use of the many opportunities it provides for learning, creativity and digital skills development.
