Religious Education

At Kingsway, Religious Education plays an important role in helping children develop an understanding of themselves and the diverse world around them. Through RE, pupils are encouraged to explore challenging questions about meaning and purpose, beliefs about God, issues of right and wrong, and what it means to be human. Children learn about a range of religions and worldviews within local, national and global contexts, developing respect, curiosity and understanding of different beliefs and ways of life. Through discussion, enquiry and reflection, pupils learn to appreciate diverse viewpoints and engage in thoughtful dialogue. They also develop the skills needed to understand, interpret and evaluate religious texts, sources of wisdom and authority, and other forms of evidence, enabling them to become informed, respectful and active members of modern British society.
